The game has been in production for over a decade now
The Burj Khalifa needs no introduction – an iconic skyscraper in the world, which is considered Dubai's crown jewel. Built over a period of six years, costing 1.5 billion dollars, the Khalifa is an engineering marvel and an epitome of luxury. Therefore, it is quite shocking to learn that a video game's production cost surpassed one of the most critical engineering pieces in the world.
The video game in question is Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI by Rockstar Games. The makers released the game's trailer a few days ago.
As per multiple reports, the production cost of GTA VI is 2 billion dollars.
Reports also suggest that the game will recover the estimated 2 billion dollars from sales on its first day of release.
The developers at Rockstar Games took 12 years to build the game. The last iteration, i.e., GTA V, was released in 2013.
After years of waiting, Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game will be officially released on May 26.
