Several cities in foreign countries share their names with famous Indian cities

As we know, India is an incredibly diverse country. Every 100 kilometres, tradition, culture, people's skin colour, food habits, weather, terrain, and everything else change. However, some minor similarities are also found, and they are not limited to inside the country.

Weirdly, several Indian cities share their names with several cities in various foreign countries. And we bet you didn't know about this fascinating trivia!

Delhi

Delhi, or New Delhi, is the capital city of India. However, there are three Delhis in the United States of America: New York, California, and Louisiana.

Madras

Madras was once Tamil Nadu's capital city, now known as Chennai. In the Oregon state of the US, there's a city called Madras.

Bombay

Bombay is now called Mumbai in India, the capital city of the state of Maharashtra. In New York County, there's a city named Bombay.

Kochi

Kochi is a city in Kerala and also a city found in Japan, famous for its cherry blossoms.

Surat

Gujarat's Surat is known for its diamonds, but it is also a town in Australia's Queensland.

Hyderabad

India has Hyderabad, and even its neighbouring country, PAK, has a city called Hyderabad.

Bali

We all know Bali, Thailand's famous tourist destination, but most Indians don't know that there's a city called Bali in Rajasthan.
