Thai Banana Pancake has got popularity in western countries as well. It makes for a healthier alternative to most of your regular desserts.

Ingredients

It requires only a few ingredients to prepare Thai Banana Pancake.

2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of condensed coconut milk, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 3 or 4 ripe bananas, 1/2 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of melted butter, and 1/4 cup of chocolate sauce.

How to Make Thai Banana Pancake

First, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and condensed milk in a large bowl, and prepare a smooth dough. Add vegetable oil to it, and set it aside for about an hour.

Squeeze the dough properly, coat it with 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil, and make it into several small balls.

Use a rolling pin to stretch each ball into a thin square sheet. Use oil to avoid sticking.

Now, in another bowl, put the bananas and mash them using a large spoon.

Add some oil to a non-stick pan and set it on high heat. Now, place the thin sheet on the pan, wait until one side is cooked, and then add the mashed banana in the middle.

Wrap it covering the filling, put some butter on top, flip it several times, and fry until it becomes golden brown.

Serve it hot, drizzled with some chocolate sauce or condensed milk.

Good to Know

The cooking process takes less than 30 minutes.

It boasts an amazing balance of sweet and salty flavors.

Although there's no recorded history, it's believed that the Thai Banana Pancake was introduced to Thailand by the Indian immigrants years ago.
