John Abraham Birthday Special: Into Kabir's Garage That Includes High-End Superbikes & More

John Abraham was single-handedly responsible for making motorcycles, especially sports motorcycles, popular in India

In 2004, a thief named Kabir, riding his black-and-red Suzuki Hayabusa, made an appearance on the big screens of our multiplexes. Kabir, played by John Abraham in Dhoom, showed us that villains can be cool with unmatched suavity.

However, more than John Abraham, it was fast sports motorcycles that impressed a generation of Indians. It is not wrong to say that Abraham was single-handedly responsible for making motorcycles desirable to the point that people started motorcycling not for going to the office or market, but because they found a passion for riding. In short, motorcycling became India’s newfound hobby.

21 years later, John Abraham turns 52 this December, and while a lot has changed in his life, one thing has remained constant: his love and passion for vehicles, especially motorcycles.

As we celebrate John’s birthday, here’s a look at the top vehicles in his garage.

Aprilia RSV4

Costing around INR 40 lakh, this is one of the purest track machines one can find in the world of motorcycles and is also street legal. The 1,099cc motorcycle weighs merely 202 kilograms and generates a massive 213.89bhp and a peak torque of 125NM. The motorcycle can hit between 290 and 305 kilometres per hour, depending on the modes and tuning it is set to.

Ducati Panigale V4

This is another hardcore traction machine that costs between INR 32 lakh and INR 45 lakh, depending on the variant chosen. Meant for pure racing, the Panigale V4 is a prime example of Italian automotive engineering. At 191 kilograms, the motorcycle generates 219bhp and a torque of 120.9Nm – numbers that are beyond our comprehension.

Yamaha R1

John was a proud owner of a Suzuki Hayabusa, but when he became a Yamaha brand ambassador, he had to sell it due to contractual clauses. However, Yamaha gifted John an R1, which is another powerful track machine. The present-gen model costs nearly INR 20 lakh.

Lamborghini Gallardo

John isn’t only fond of fast motorcycles but also exotic cars. Therefore, it is no surprise that a Lamborghini Gallardo is one of his prized possessions in his garage. The Gallardo is one of the greatest-selling cars from the Lamborghini stable, which was replaced by the Huracan in 2014. John’s Gallardo is powered by a V10 engine that produces 550hp.

Nissan GTR Black Edition

Fondly called the “Godzilla” of the car world, the Nissan GTR is another droolworthy car in Abraham’s vehicle collection. The GTR can easily do 0 to 96 kilometres per hour in less than three seconds. Currently, the car is no longer on sale, but its last recorded price in India was a whopping INR 2.12 crore.

Last but not least, the birthday boys also own a number of Indian vehicles, such as the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, Mahindra Thar Roxx, and a custom motorcycle from Rajputana Customs.
