Ajay Devgn's much-awaited period sports drama Maidaan hit cinemas this Eid on April 11, 2024. At the time of its release date announcement, the day was already booked by Pooja Entertainment for Ali Abbas Zafar's action entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
Coming to Maidaan, it is helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. It is a sports drama showcasing the golden period of Indian football with Ajay playing the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 until he died in 1963. Starring Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, the film released on April 11.
As for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film marks Tiger's first collaboration with Akshay Kumar. It was also released on April 11.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal' released in cinemas on December 1, 2023. 'Sam Bahadur' based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, featured Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
