Amid a string of controversies, India emerged as the winner of the Asia Cup, played in the T20 format in 2025. India not only topped the group but also defeated PAK thrice throughout the tournament. All the ugly gestures and statements by PAK made little sense because in the end, it was India lifting the trophy. In terms of individual performances, Abhishek Sharma ended as the tournament’s top run scorer with 314 runs, whereas Kuldeep Yadav was the highest wicket taker with 17 scalps.

Women across the country are finally taking an interest in the game and are willing to participate in various cricket-based activities. The team defeated South Africa in the final by 52 runs, with Smriti Mandhana finishing as the second-highest run scorer, whereas Deepti Singh ended as the highest wicket taker.

As the year comes to an end, India now sets its sights on the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, with both men and women gearing to play in their respective tournaments and aiming to bring the trophy home.
