As Jaiswal scored a composed 56 in the first innings of India vs Bangladesh, let's take a look back at all of his 50+ innings at home

Yashasvi Jaiswal continues constructing a castle of runs every time he bats on Indian soil. His fifth test fisty, a well-crafted 56 in the first innings of the India versus Bangladesh Test in Chennai, adds to his increasing history of dependability. And, let's be honest, isn't it exhilarating to see a guy like Jaiswal transform the pitch into his playground every time he comes out to bat at home? The man has made it a habit to score over 50 in every Test match he plays in India!

Jaiswal's knock against Bangladesh

Day 1 of India's first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, and Jaiswal has done it again. He scored 56 off 118 balls, including nine boundaries, and played a calm innings when India needed it the most. Nahid Rana of Bangladesh ultimately got him, but not before Jaiswal showed his calm once again.

The Hyderabad heroics

Remember his first huge knock at home against England earlier in 2024? In Hyderabad, India was chasing England's first-innings total of 246. Jaiswal responded with an impressive 80 from 96 balls, including 10 boundaries and three sixes.

He and his teammates led India to 436, but despite their best efforts, they could not chase down their target in the final innings, losing by 28 runs. Jaiswal's 80 was crucial in keeping India in the contest.

The double ton at Visakhapatnam

Next stop: Visakhapatnam, and what a match that was! Jaiswal delivered an absolute masterpiece, striking a whopping 209 off 290 balls. His innings, which included 19 boundaries and 7 sixes, contributed significantly to India's first-innings total of 396 runs.

India won by 106 runs, easily defeating England in the process. It was one of those games where Jaiswal's cool and deliberate approach utterly destroyed England's bowling assault.

Rajkot masterclass: Another double-century

In Rajkot, Jaiswal struck again, this time for an unbeaten 214 in the second innings. With 14 fours and 12 sixes, he had the English bowlers on a wild goose chase. India declared at 430 for 4, and England couldn't withstand the strain.

They crumbled for 122 in their second innings, gifting India a 434-run triumph. Jaiswal's innings here demonstrated his ability to alter gears when needed, taking full advantage of the circumstances to get another double-century.

Ranchi: Holding the fort

Jaiswal continued to impress in Ranchi. In a contest when India trailed England's first-innings total, Jaiswal's tenacious 73 proved critical. Facing Shoaib Bashir's spin bowling, Jaiswal handled the situation maturely, taking India to a competitive score.

This was a thrilling encounter, with India chasing 145 in the last innings. Thanks to Jaiswal and the rest of the batting lineup, India secured a 5-wicket victory, keeping the series momentum alive.

Dharamsala: A quickfire fifty

Dharamsala witnessed a different Jaiswal—a more violent one. In India's first innings, he scored 57 off 58 balls, with five fours and three sixes. His rapid-fire knock helped India score a huge 477 runs.

England fell under strain, scoring just 218 and 195 in their two innings, allowing India to win by an innings and 64 runs. Jaiswal's aggressive attitude early on set the tone for a contest in which India controlled from start to end.

Looking back on Jaiswal's home performances, one thing is clear: he was consistent. This versatility, paired with his will to run, is what makes him one of India's most promising possibilities.
