‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ won't be airing on any national TV channels, but viewers can stream it exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The show is set to officially premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with the first three episodes available right away. After that, new episodes will be released weekly, with a total of 20 episodes planned for the season. The 20-episode season will showcase contestants going head-to-head with stars from TV, music, sports, and the internet for a chance to win a $100,000 prize.
The lineup of celebrities on ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ includes a fun mix of stars, such as Cincinnati-born comedian Nikki Glaser, fellow comedian Natasha Leggero, former NFL and Bengals quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, ex-Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, and ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Garcelle Beauvais, Sophia Stallone, Nicole Byer, Lala Kent, Ron Funches, among others. These personalities will be bringing their wit and charm to the show, adding even more excitement to the competition.
The new spin-off series ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ adds an exciting twist to the original game show, which debuted in 2007 to a massive audience of 27 million viewers. In the original ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,’ a single contestant faced ten questions (plus a bonus round), with content pulled from elementary school textbooks, spanning grades one through five and small children assisting the contestants. However, the spin-off series, premiering today, brings celebrities into the mix. Instead of children assisting the contestant, each episode features a classroom full of celebrities helping to tackle 11 elementary-level trivia questions. For the final question, at the sixth-grade level and worth $100,000, contestants can select one celebrity to assist them. This twist adds a fresh, star-powered element to the familiar format.
