Summer Special: Indian Railways To Run Three Trains In Jammu-Kashmir From June 2

Due to the ongoing summer holidays across the country, the trains will be moved into service from June 2 itself.

Ahead of the tourist season coupled with the summer vacations in the schools and other institutions across India, the Northern Railways has come up with three special trains from New Delhi to Jammu-Udhampur-Katra from June 2 to July 30. Since there is a huge rush of tourists and pilgrims in view of the summer holidays, the special trains will be pressed into service from June 2 itself.

Statement from the officials

“Three summer special trains from New Delhi to Jammu to Katra will start operating from June 2 to cater to the rush of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims,” the official sources mentioned.

Details of the special trains

The officials added that the special train from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will start on June 2. It will run from New Delhi Station every Friday at 11:15 PM and reach Katra next day at 11:25 am. On the other hand, the train would leave every Saturday at 6:30 pm from Katra.

The special train with AC coaches will stop at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi and Udhampur stations.

Coming to the New Delhi-Udhampur-New Delhi (04075/04076) special train, it will run from June 1 to July 30. It will run from New Delhi every Thursday at 11:15 PM and reach Udhampur at 10:55 am next day, as sources informed. As for Udhampur, the train would return every Friday at 7 pm with stops at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala, Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt and Jammu Tawi stations.

The last special train would be a weekly special train, which would run between New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and hence would help pilgrims in four rounds from June 3 to July 25.

The train will leave New Delhi every Saturday at 11:15 PM and reach its destination of Katra the next day at 11:25 am. On the other hand, it would leave Katra for New Delhi every Sunday at 6.30 pm with halts at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi and Udhampur.
