Shraddha Kapoor's Birthday: Before 'Aashiqui 2' - The Actress's Early Films Where She Went Unnoticed

Do you know ‘Aashiqui 2’ was not the first film of Shraddha Kapoor?

Bollywood’s beloved star, Shraddha Kapoor is best known for her breakthrough role in Aashiqui 2, released in 2013. She mesmerized the audiences as Aarohi with her soulful performance and enchanting voice. However, her journey to stardom was not at all instant. Before becoming a household name, Shraddha Kapoor, daughter of famous Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor appeared in a few films that, unfortunately, didn’t get much attention.

As we celebrate her birthday today, let’s take a look back at the early roles of Shraddha Kapoor where she went unnoticed, proving that even the biggest stars have humble beginnings.

Teen Patti (2010) – A Star Among Legends

Shraddha Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with this film named Teen Patti, a thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley, and R. Madhavan. With such a powerhouse cast, it was certain for a newcomer to be overshadowed. Shraddha played a character named Aparna, a bright college student involved in a high-stakes gambling plot. Despite an intriguing concept, the movie failed to impress critics and audiences alike. Though Shraddha’s performance was promising, Teen Patti simply came and went without making any noise. But, sharing screen space with Big B in her debut? Not at all a bad start, right?

The movie is available on Zee5, YouTube, and Prime Video.

Luv Ka The End (2011) – A Quirky Revenge Comedy

It was Shraddha’s first film as a lead actress. In Luv Ka The End, a youthful rom-com produced by YRF’s youth banner named Y-Films. Playing a character named Rhea, a high school girl who gets cheated on by her boyfriend, she embarks on a mission to ruin his life in the most hilarious way possible.

Despite having all the ingredients of a fun teenage flick with pranks, sass, and a revenge anthem, the movie didn’t quite click with audiences. However, Luv Ka The End showcased her comedic timing and confident screen presence, which became her strengths later.

The movie is available on Prime Video.

There are couple of reasons why Shraddha Kapoor’s initial two films didn’t make any impact. Teen Patti had a unique concept which lacked execution, while Luv Ka The End was a niche movie that didn’t appeal to the mainstream audiences.

Aashiqui 2 (2013) – The Game-Changer

After two failures in the box office, Shraddha finally got her golden ticket with Mohit Suri directorial Aashiqui 2. As Aarohi, a small-town singer with big dreams, Shraddha won hearts with her innocence and vulnerability. With blockbuster songs, which are famous even today, the film became a massive success. And the Bollywood got a new sweetheart.

From Unnoticed to Unstoppable

While her initial works didn’t get much love, Shraddha Kapoor didn’t give up. She kept on refining her craft, and after Aashiqui 2, she delivered massive hits like Ek Villain, Haider, ABCD 2, and the most famous Stree franchise. Today, she’s one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses.

As she celebrates another year, her journey proves that early setbacks should never define success. From unnoticed performances to being one of Bollywood’s favorite stars, Shraddha Kapoor’s journey aptly describes perseverance, talent, and finding the right moment to shine.

Here’s wishing Shraddha Kapoor an amazing birthday and many more stellar performances ahead!
