Celebrating Shraddha Kapoor’s biggest hits on her special day!

Bollywood’s favourite ‘Stree,’ Shraddha Kapoor, is celebrating her 38th birthday today. The multi-talented actress made her debut in Leena Yadav’s ‘Teen Patti,’ portraying Aparna Khanna. Since then, she has continued to shine, delivering numerous box office hits. As one of India’s highest-paid actresses, Shraddha has captivated audiences with several blockbuster films. On her special day, let’s take a look at her highest-grossing movies.

Stree 2

Directed by Amar Kaushik, this comedy-horror film took the nation by storm. Serving as the fourth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and a sequel to ‘Stree’, it features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The story follows a group of friends who must battle Sarkata, a headless malevolent entity abducting the women of Chanderi. The film has grossed between ₹837 crore and ₹874.58 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024.

Saaho

‘Saaho’ is an action thriller film directed by Sujeeth. The film holds a special place and remains unforgettable as it marks Prabhas' debut in Hindi cinema and Shraddha Kapoor's debut in Telugu cinema. Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, ‘Saaho’ earned between ₹419 crore and ₹439 crore worldwide against a massive ₹325 crore budget. However, some sources suggest that its total global box office collection exceeded ₹600 crore. Despite the varying figures, the film was a commercial success.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor shared the screen for the first time in this romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan. The film marked Shraddha Kapoor’s return after a three-year hiatus and introduced Boney Kapoor and Anubhav Singh Bassi in their acting debuts. With a domestic gross of ₹177.44 crore and an overseas collection of ₹42.66 crore, the film achieved a worldwide total of ₹220.1 crore, adding another high-grossing success to Shraddha’s career.

Chhichhore

The coming-of-age comedy-drama ‘Chhichhore,’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari, resonated deeply with audiences due to its theme of academic success, striking a chord with both youngsters and parents. Featuring an impressive ensemble cast including Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Naveen Polishetty, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and others, the film was inspired by Tiwari's experiences as a student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Many critics praised it as a film that stays with you long after you leave the cinema hall. With a lifetime worldwide gross of ₹203.63 crore, ‘Chhichhore’ proudly joins the prestigious “200 Crore Club.”

Stree

If the sequel achieved such great success, the first film must have been a strong foundation, right? ‘Stree’ marked the directorial debut of Amar Kaushik and featured Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. The plot draws inspiration from the urban legend ‘Naale Baa,’ which translates to “come tomorrow” in Kannada and was adapted as “O Stree Kal Aana” in the film. With a budget of ₹23–25 crore, ‘Stree’ grossed over ₹180 crore at the box office, establishing itself as a massive commercial success.
