Anand Tiwari’s Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk’s Bad Newz released in theatres this Friday on July 19. The film highlights the complexities of heteropaternal superfecundation and is set amidst the backdrop of humour and chaos. Going by the film's trailer, Vicky and Ammy play the lead protagonists who end up navigating unexpected fatherhood dilemmas, with Triptii at the centre of it.

Nonetheless, the fans have been loving the Anand Tiwari-directorial so far, thanks to Vicky and Triptii’s scintillating chemistry and Ammy’s impeccable comic timing. Bambukat

The period comedy drama film, written by Jass Grewal and directed by Pankaj Batra, featured Ammy Virk, Binnu Dhillon, Simi Chahal and Sheetal Thakur in lead roles. Set in the Punjab of the 1960s, it grossed around Rs 245 million in its entire theatrical run, and became the eleventh highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time. Ammy Virk was much loved as Channan Singh, a young man in the village.

Harjeeta

Released in 2018, the Punjabi sports-drama film written by Jagdeep Sidhu and directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, featured Ammy Virk, Sawan Rupowali, Sameep Ranaut, and Pankaj Tripathi. Ammy played the role of Harjeet Singh, a field hockey player, who captains the Indian team in Junior World Cup. While the film was commercially unsuccessful, it bagged two National Film Awards for Best Punjabi Film, and Best Child Actor for Sameep Ranaut. Ammy’s portrayal of the young Hockey player was appreciated.

Qismat

The 2018 romantic drama film stars Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta in lead roles. It revolved around a man who falls in love whilst studying in Chandigarh, while knowing that his marriage has been arranged to another woman. The film got positive response from all corners, and critics termed it as Virk's best performance at the time. Qismat is one of the highest-grossing Punjabi films of all time.

Bhuj: The Pride of India

The 2021 war film revolves around the Indian Air Force Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, in-charge of the Bhuj Air Force Base, and showcases how with the help of 300 local women of Madhapar Village, he rebuilt the damaged landing strip in 72 hours. It starred Ajay Devgn as Karnik, with an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk and Ihana Dhillon. Ammy was praised for his performance as Squadron Leader Vikram Singh Baj of the Indian Air Force.

The biographical sports drama film by Kabir Khan is based on the India national cricket team led by Kapil Dev, which took home the 1983 Cricket World Cup trophy. The film showed Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev while Pankaj Tripathi played PR Man Singh, the team’s manager. The film starred Ammy as Balwinder Singh Sandhu aka "Ballu”, who played a significant role in the Indian team in winning the 1983 World Cup.
