Linkin Park returns with a new album, a fresh tour, and a female vocalist, marking their first since Chester Bennington's demise.
Linkin Park has revealed their first studio album since 2017's ‘One More Light.’ Titled ‘From Zero,’ the album is set to drop on November 15 under Warner. The Grammy-winning rock band will also launch their highly anticipated ‘From Zero’ World Tour this fall, making stops in Los Angeles; New York; Hamburg, Germany; London; Seoul, South Korea; and Bogota, Colombia. The six-show arena tour kicks off on September 11 at the Kia Forum in L.A. Fan club presales begin Friday, with general ticket sales opening Saturday. Fans can find more details at LinkinPark.com.
Along with the album announcement, Linkin Park has released a new single, ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ accompanied by a music video directed by Joe Hahn. The lineup still includes original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell, and Joe Hahn. ‘From Zero’ marks the band’s first release since the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in July 2017. The band has not performed live since their tribute concert for Bennington at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2017.
Chester Bennington was the iconic lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park and also served as the lead vocalist for Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots throughout his career. He rose to fame with the release of Linkin Park's debut album ‘Hybrid Theory,’ a global phenomenon that achieved Diamond certification by the RIAA in 2005, becoming the best-selling debut album of the decade. Bennington remained the band's powerful voice for six more studio albums, from ‘Meteora’ to ‘One More Light,’ with each album reaching the top three on the Billboard 200 chart. Widely regarded as one of the greatest rock vocalists of his generation, Bennington's influence extended across the rock landscape. Following his tragic death on July 20, 2017, the band has not performed.
Linkin Park, featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell, and Joe Hahn, is expanding its lineup as they embark on a new musical chapter. Singer-songwriter Emily Armstrong, co-founder of the alternative rock band Dead Sara, is joining the group as co-vocalist. In addition, renowned rock producer Colin Brittain will take over as the band's drummer, replacing original member Rob Bourdon. The new lineup debuted with their new single, ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ showcasing Armstrong's powerful vocals, which honor Bennington's legacy without imitation. This was especially clear during their performance of ‘Somewhere I Belong,’ where her full-throated delivery stood out.
