'Lal Salaam' Winning Hearts Far And Wide; Did You Know Rajinikanth Charged Rs 1 Crore Per Minute For The Film?

The superstar has a 40-minute-long cameo in the film.

"Directing Dad Rajinikanth was surreal. He was an obedient actor," shared filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth about directing his father in 'Lal Salaam'.

'Lal Salaam' is one-day-old at theatres, and has already taken the entire nation by storm. Aishwarya Rajinikanth makes a stellar comeback as the director after an almost eight-year hiatus, with the added delight of superstar Rajinikanth's extended cameo – well, what more could we ask for? And even if we keep everything else aside, only the massy entry of Rajini Sir as Moideen Bhai is something to die for!

"Rajinikanth essay beautifully the dual role of a father, who has aspirations for his son, and a community leader, who believes that all people are one irrespective of religion or caste. He is measured in his actions and even the fight scenes are not over-the-top. Rajinikanth is the backbone of 'Lal Salaam'," wrote critic Latha Srinivasan in her review of the film.

It is an extended cameo for Rajinikanth in 'Lal Salaam'. While the superstar charges over 100 crores for every film, not many know about his remuneration for cameos. In this article, let's learn that.

Rajinikanth Charged Rs 1 Crore Per Minute For 'Lal Salaam'

Yes, you read it right! According to a recent report, Rajinikanth charged a whooping Rs 1 crore per minute for 'Lal Salaam'. Hence, his total remuneration stands at nearly Rs 40 crore.

However, please note that we did not verify the authenticity of the report.

It is worth noting that the superstar not only acted in 'Lal Salaam' but also helped in writing the dialogues. As A. R. Rahman shared in an interview, "When Aishwarya first told me the story of the film… I thought ‘This film is going to be boring da’. I thought it would be preachy. Until I saw the film… The scenes that I thought would be cringy and preachy were handled very thoughtfully and were heartwarming. I then asked her who wrote dialogues for the movie, and she said, ‘I wrote and Appa changed a bit.’ I realized it was his wisdom. Because he respects everything, he has researched well and has said many rare things."
