Harshal Patel

Punjab Kings' Harshal Patel emerged as the leading wicket-taker of IPL 2024, claiming the prestigious Purple Cap. Despite his team finishing ninth with just five wins, Harshal stood out with the ball. He took 24 wickets in 14 league-stage matches, consistently delivering in crucial middle and death overs.

His deceptive, slower deliveries proved lethal on most surfaces. With an impressive bowling average of 19.88, he conceded 477 runs in 49 overs, making him the standout bowler of the season.

Jasprit Bumrah

Even in a disappointing campaign for the Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah excelled with the ball. MI finished at the bottom of the table, yet Bumrah's brilliance kept their hopes alive. He took 20 wickets in 13 league-stage matches, maintaining the best average of the season at 16.80.

His economy rate was exceptional, conceding only 336 runs in 51.5 overs. A highlight of the season was his stunning 5/21 spell against RCB, reminding everyone why he is one of the best in the business.

T Natarajan

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a strong campaign, reaching the finals, and T Natarajan played a vital role in their success. The left-arm pacer took 19 wickets in 14 matches, averaging 24.47. His ability to bowl yorkers in critical situations made him a crucial asset for SRH.

His standout performance came against Delhi Capitals, where he achieved figures of 4/19. Over 51.2 overs, he conceded 465 runs, demonstrating his consistency and effectiveness in the bowling department.

A breakout star for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Harshit Rana has turned heads with his fearless bowling. The young pacer took 19 wickets in just 13 matches, maintaining an average of 20.15. His economic rate of 9.08 demonstrated his aggression and attacking mindset.

Rana's defining moment came in the season opener when he defended 13 runs in the final over against SRH. His figures of 2/24 in the final further solidified his reputation as one of the most promising young bowlers in the IPL 2024.

The ones who just missed out

Three additional bowlers—Avesh Khan (RR), Arshdeep Singh (PBKS), and Andre Russell (KKR)—concluded the season with 19 wickets each. Russell's match-winning performance of 3/19 in the final elevated him to eighth place on the list.
