IPL 2026: Uncapped Players Who Grabbed the Big Bucks

The IPL mini auction had 238 players in the draft, but only a number of talented ones made it to franchises, whereas a lucky few grabbed big bucks

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a platform that gives youngsters and debutants a chance to display their talent and achieve their dream of playing for the Indian national team one day. This year, several uncapped players will make their league debuts, with the league scheduled to begin on March 28. Ahead of the first game, check out which uncapped players grabbed the most moolah.

Prashant Veer

Hailing from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, the 20-year-old Prashant Veer was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for a whopping amount of INR 14.2 crore, making him the most expensive uncapped player ever. In the domestic circuit, Veer represents Uttar Pradesh and is a bowling all-rounder. He has 12 domestic T20 matches under his belt with 12 wickets and 112 runs to his name. Apart from 12 T20s, Veer has played three First Class and eight List A matches.

Kartik Sharma

A year younger than Veer but sharing the same fate, Kartik Sharma was also purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 14.2 crore. Sharma is a right-hand wicketkeeper batter who has played 12 domestic games with 334 runs to his name. He also has eight First Class and nine List A matches under his belt, with 479 runs and 445 runs scored so far, respectively.

Auqib Nabi Dar

At 29, Auqib Nabi Dar cannot be called a youngster, but he remains a talented uncapped player from Jammu & Kashmir. Over the years, he had grown used to rejection from IPL teams, but last year in the mini auction, he was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for INR 8.4 crore. Dar is an experienced domestic player with 156 wickets in First Class, 56 in List A, and 43 in T20. In the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), he grabbed 15 wickets in just 7 matches. Dar is known for his swing abilities and death-overs accuracy.

Mangesh Yadav

23-year-old Mangesh Yadav has little to no experience playing cricket, even at the domestic level, with just three List A and two T20 matches. However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have shown faith in the all-rounder and purchased him for a whopping INR 5.2 crore.

Tejasvi Singh

The fifth most expensive uncapped buy was Tejasvi Singh, priced at INR 3 crore by the Kolkata Knight Riders. There is little to no information about Singh, except that he has six T20 matches under his belt so far, with 113 runs at a strike rate of 168.65 and an average of 56.50.
