Bengaluru has already won the first clash between the two sides in 2026
On April 30 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT), currently fifth on the Indian Premier League (IPL) table, will host second-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Ahead of IPL’s game no. 42, let us look at how the two sides have fared against each other in the history of the tournament, followed by a glimpse of their last clash and more.

Head-to-head
Head-to-head, the two sides have played only seven matches against each other, given that the Titans joined the league in 2022, compared to RCB, which has been a part of the IPL since 2008. Out of seven matches, GT has won only three against RCB, whereas the other four went in RCB’s favour. No match has ever ended in a tie between the two sides.
GT lost this match when they scored just 204 after having a opening stand of 120+ and dropping Virat Kohli on 0

You can't beat RCB at Chinnaswamy just by scoring 204, it's like bread and butter for RCB right now with powerhouse batting lineup#RCBvsGT pic.twitter.com/EOCns5EANk
In terms of IPL success, both teams have won the title once: GT lifted the trophy in their debut season, whereas RCB took 17 years to win their first.
Last clash
Six days ago, on April 24, the two sides played the first round, with RCB emerging as the winner. As has been the case with multiple IPL matches this season, the game between GT and RCB saw over 200 runs on the board, but a century went in vain.

Sai Sudharshan scored 100 runs in 58 balls, followed by valuable contributions from the willow of Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler, which saw GT post a target of 205 runs.
However, in response, Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock, hitting 81 runs in 44 balls. Devdutt Padikkal had also joined the bandwagon and scored 55 runs in 27 deliveries. Not to forget, in the lower order, Krunal Pandya scored 23 runs in 12 balls to finish the game in 18.5 overs.
RCB won the game by five wickets.
