IPL 2026: Indian Bowlers Whom We Expect to Take Maximum Scalps

India has no dearth of capable T20I bowlers, and therefore, in the IPL, we believe some of them will take several wickets

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is often considered a batters’ paradise, but India has no dearth of capable T20I bowlers who know how to send the batters back to the dugout. Therefore, ahead of the tournament’s first game, let us highlight those bowlers from whom we have great expectations in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah

It is no surprise that Jasprit Bumrah is our top bowler, having recently ended the ICC T20 World Cup as its highest wicket-taker. Last year, Bumrah grabbed 20 wickets, and in 2024, he took 18 wickets. Given how consistent Bumrah is, we have no doubt that he will be among the top wicket takers of the tournament.

Varun Chakaravarthy

Second-highest wicket-taker in the 2025 edition and 17 wickets in 2024, Varun also grabbed the same number of wickets as Jasprit Bumrah in the World Cup, i.e., 14 wickets, but unfortunately, a majority of people missed celebrating him. Nonetheless, we have a strong gut feeling that Varun Chakaravarthy will prove to be an effective wicket-taker once again in the IPL.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh had a decent T20 World Cup campaign, but he can do much better, and that is exactly what he will try to achieve in the upcoming edition. Last season, Singh had 19 wickets to his name, but we believe Singh will try to get back into the 20-plus wickets zone.

Hardik Pandya

There is no doubt that Hardik Pandya is one of the most effective all-rounders India has ever produced. Therefore, we not only expect Pandya to score runs but also to grab crucial wickets throughout the tournament. In fact, we expect him to pick over 15 wickets in the tournament and change the tide in his team’s favour in every phase of the tournament.

Kuldeep Yadav

Last but not least, we have high expectations for Kuldeep Yadav, who lit the Asia Cup 2025 on fire but, since then, has had a tough time coming on and off the national camp throughout the last year. Even for the ICC T20 World Cup, he was not selected but was later called to replace Harshit Rana and played only one game. Yadav will be eager to prove his prowess, and therefore, he will need to consistently pick wickets. We firmly believe in his capability.

IPL 2026: Indian Batters Who Are Expected to Light Up the Tournament

We believe these Indian batters will make a dent or two in the bowlers’ chins The Indian Premier League (IPL) is approaching, and as usual, batters are preparing to ignite the tournament with an abundance of runs. Given that the tournament involves so many players, it is incredibly hard to ...
