As a child artist, Imran Khan played the younger version of his uncle, Aamir Khan, in several films.
More than any of his on-screen characters or his performances, Imran Khan as a Bollywood actor sparks more curiosity among fans these days. Right after 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na' happened, he became a favorite of the youth (especially the women) thanks to his unmatched charm. It was rise and rise for him thereafter, with one hit after another. And then suddenly came a series of failures, with all the excitement surrounding him dwindling away. He disappeared from showbiz and went on a long hiatus when we had no idea about what he was up to. And recently, just like that, he returned to the spotlight, leaving the entire world buzzing with speculation about his COMEBACK. Now, every other day, there are conversations on social media regarding his comeback, reminiscing about his popular rom-com roles, and wondering why he didn't get the recognition that he deserved. Well, needless to say, his story itself can be made into a Bollywood film, and that - no sarcasm intended - would be a bigger success than all his previous works combined.
Born on January 13, 1983, Imran Khan celebrates his 42nd birthday today. On this occasion, we share an interesting fact about him that you didn't know.
Everyone knows that Imran Khan is the nephew of actor-producer Aamir Khan. He was launched by the '3 Idiots' actor and went on to star in several of the latter's productions.
However, what you may not know is that long before 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na' happened, Imran had played the child version of Aamir Khan in a few films. The list includes 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', which was Aamir's debut, and 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'.
Both films were directed by Mansoor Khan (Imran's uncle) and produced by Nasir Hussain (Imran's maternal grandfather).
Released in 1988, 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' marked the acting debut of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, and the directorial debut of Mansoor Khan - all went on to be stalwarts of mainstream Hindi cinema. Loosely based on William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', the film follows two individuals' journey of falling in love, eloping, and the aftermath.
Aamir Khan played the role of Rajveer "Raj" Singh in the film. Imran played the young Raj.

Upon its theatrical release, 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' emerged as a massive critical and commercial success.
'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' is another milestone in both Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan's careers. Released in 1992, the coming-of-age sports film also stars Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bedi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Mamik Singh among others. Its plot is reportedly inspired by the 1979 American film 'Breaking Away'.
Just like 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' was also a critical and commercial success. It grossed Rs 52 million in India, which is now equivalent to Rs 927 million when adjusted for inflation.
