Happy Birthday, Brad Pitt: Did You Know The 'Seven' Actor Is Also A Licensed Pilot?

The Academy Award-winning actor received his private pilot’s license in the 1990s.

Brad Pitt has it all - incredibly good looks, chiseled physique, and obviously, unparalleled acting chops. But what truly sets him apart is he always puts the films that he stars in above himself. Take, for instance, 'Fight Club', where his phenomenal performance as Tyler Durden grabs the spotlight most of the time. However, he never tries to overshadow Edward Norton, as he is aware that the latter is the protagonist here. And whenever required, he makes sure to step back and let Norton own the scenes. Similarly, in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', he restrains himself in several sequences and lets Leonardo DiCaprio take the lead. This showcases how secure he is as an actor - he doesn't need to show off his screen presence and scream to the audiences, "See, I am a great actor" or "I am better than others". Well, if you are a buding actor reading this - take note!

With time, he emerged as a bonafide star with films such as 'A River Runs Through It', 'Interview with the Vampire', 'Seven', 'Ocean's Eleven', 'Troy', '12 Monkeys', 'Fight Club', 'Inglourious Basterds', and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' among others. But have you ever wondered what he does in his free time? Well, he flies.

The actor turns 61 today. On this occasion, we shed some light on another aspect of him that many are unaware of.

Brad Pitt - A Licensed Pilot

Yes, besides being a celebrated actor (and a film producer), Brad Pitt is also a skilled pilot. He received his private pilot’s license back in the 1990s and has since got an instrument rating (allowing him to fly in various weather conditions) as well. He can fly both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft.

According to reports, Pitt undertook a certified training program at the Boultbee Flight Academy in Oxford, where he learned how to operate the Spitfire Unique Controls. Later, in 2014, he participated in the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Event, where he showcased his flying skills to the world.

Notably, he is a proud owner of a Cirrus SR22 and a Supermarine Spitfire. Over the years, he has supported various aviation organizations, including the Air Force Aid Society and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
