What makes 'Gullak' absolutely stand out is its unmatched relatability. Through the stories (or moments) of the Mishra family, the show perfectly captures the essence of Indian middle-class families. Santosh Mishra represents the quintessential Indian father who strives to serve his family, while Shanti Mishra is the mother who sacrifices all her comfort to keep her family happy. And the bond between Annu and Aman is absolutely spot-on throughout all the seasons.
The show is like a collage of moments that you will see in every family. Every scene (whether it is the debate about buying a new scooter, the discussion about renovating the house, or the celebration of small achievements of life) seems plucked out of our own lives.
The humor in 'Gullak' is situational, making it captivating like no other. If you have seen all the previous seasons, you know there's no exaggerated 'comedy' scene just for the sake of it. Instead, the humor is there in the everyday nuances of the Mishra family. Take, for instance, the scene where Shanti Mishra says about the meal she has cooked, "Tehri bolte hai usse", to which Annu replies, "Nahi, disappointment bolte hai usse!"
