As we eagerly await 'Gullak' season 4, let's revisit the previous seasons and understand why the show deserves all the hype that it receives.

The Relatability

What makes 'Gullak' absolutely stand out is its unmatched relatability. Through the stories (or moments) of the Mishra family, the show perfectly captures the essence of Indian middle-class families. Santosh Mishra represents the quintessential Indian father who strives to serve his family, while Shanti Mishra is the mother who sacrifices all her comfort to keep her family happy. And the bond between Annu and Aman is absolutely spot-on throughout all the seasons.

The show is like a collage of moments that you will see in every family. Every scene (whether it is the debate about buying a new scooter, the discussion about renovating the house, or the celebration of small achievements of life) seems plucked out of our own lives.

The Humor

The humor in 'Gullak' is situational, making it captivating like no other. If you have seen all the previous seasons, you know there's no exaggerated 'comedy' scene just for the sake of it. Instead, the humor is there in the everyday nuances of the Mishra family. Take, for instance, the scene where Shanti Mishra says about the meal she has cooked, "Tehri bolte hai usse", to which Annu replies, "Nahi, disappointment bolte hai usse!" These scenarios are not only hilarious but also relatable, making it a heartwarming experience for us! And it proves that the best of humor is often found in the ordinary events of life.

The Performances

All the characters in 'Gullak' are well-developed and multidimensional. And they are brought to life thanks to the stellar performances of its cast. Jameel Khan, the father, is unbelievably convincing, while Geetanjali Kulkarni delivers a nuanced performance throughout, bringing out the essence of the Indian matriarch.

Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar, Annu and Aman respectively, hit the bull's eye as well. They successfully bring the dynamics of Indian siblings on screen, contributing enormously to the narrative. And their banters (take, for instance, the TV scene) make it immensely enjoyable for us.

However, the star of the show, without an iota of doubt, is the supremely talented Shivankit Singh Parihar - the narrator. It's his words that make the Mishra family feel like our own. You know, "kahaani nahi, kissa hai ye..."

'Gullak' is inarguably one of the best productions from TVF. And it has consistently maintained its magic through all seasons. Now, let's wait and see what the upcoming season has to offer!
