Suhana Khan to Agastya Nanda, here is a list of people who will make their acting debut soon.
Well, as Bollywood audiences, we all love a good Bollywood debut? And in 2023, there are some interesting ones lined up.
But before that, let’s go back to the 90s when each of us remember the ‘Hrithik mania’ that took over the entire nation. It happened when Hrithik Roshan made his big Bollywood debut with Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000). At the same time, Kareena Kapoor Khan joined film with Refugee (2000) and followed it up with her iconic role as Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. For years, the two actors were the most sought-after on-screen couple.
Next up, another big Bollywood debut that was all the rage was Deepika Padukone, who made her debut in 2007 when Om Shanti Om.
Other actors who made big successful debuts post the late Sushant Singh Rajput (Kai Po Che!), Alia Bhatt (Student of the Year), Varun Dhawan (Student of the Year), Sidharth Malhotra (Student of the Year), Imran Khan (Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na), Shahid Kapoor (Ishq Vishk), Ayushmann Khurrana (Vicky Donor), Parineeti Chopra (Ladies vs Ricky Bahl), Ranveer Singh (Band Baaja Baaraat), Vicky Kaushal (Masaan), Bhumi Pednekar (Dum Laga Ke Haisha), and Anushka Sharma (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi).
While some fared only decently with their debut films, they did go on to become massive stars thereafter. For instance, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. In fact, in 2018, when Dhadak and Kedarnath came out, the fans were divided as to who made the better debut amongst Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. Also, let’s not forget Siddhant Chaturvedi's claim to fame after the blockbuster hit Gully Boy.
So, when it comes to Bollywood debuts, there will always be ones who arrive with a splash but it does not mean that a not so successful debut means that you cannot have a successful career. Same goes the case for one-hit wonders, or to say actors who’ve failed to match the success of their first film.
Let’s now check out the most-awaited Bollywood debuts:
It was earlier reported that Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, will make her debut in 2023 with Bedhadak opposite Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya Lalwani. However, the film did not see the light of the day, and it is now believed that the 23-year-old, who was an assistant director on Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Gunjan Saxena, will make her pan-India debut with south superstar Mohanlal in his upcoming film titled Vrushabha.
