Reverdie This French word has a long history in its native language as far as the 14th century. Later the word was adopted by English in the late 1800s. The word is derived from the verb reverdiewhich translates to something becoming green again. A reverdie is a dance, poem, or song that is performed to celebrate the return of spring. Erumpent and Breard The word that describes the re-emerging of the plants from above the ground which specifically happens in spring is described perfectly by the adjective used in the 17th century called erumpent. It also means anything that bursts out. In the same way, the presence of a plant above the ground is also known as breard. So, two words give out the same meaning. Spring is also known as lamb-storms, winnol-weather, and after-winter If we dive into the subject of weather then there are many words in the English language that can be used to describe spring. Words like lamb storms are nothing but thunderstorms that happens in spring when the lambs are born.
