Famous Movie Franchises That Went From Good to Bad

Some of the movie franchises we have listed in this article should have ended after the second or the third movie

Over the years, the producers and directors of some movies have turned them into franchises. For example, we have had the Harry Potter franchise, the Lord of the Rings franchise, the Transporter franchise and a few more that ended on a high note. However, we have also witnessed some film franchises that went from good to bad. In the following paragraphs, we have listed those not-so-good franchises.

Fast and Furious

The Fast and the Furious was first released in 2001, which groomed Vin Diesel into an iconic action hero. Furthermore, stars such as the late Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriguez also cemented their positions in Hollywood. The movie’s original theme was also about street racing and boosting cars. However, after Tokyo Drift, the movie turned into a mission-based franchise with unrealistic stunts and weird plots.

Mission Impossible

We know the inclusion of Mission Impossible will upset our readers, but in our opinion, the movie franchise should have ended in 2011 after Ghost Protocol. After all, it was the perfect ending with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) bidding goodbye to his reel wife and disappearing in the smoke. Sadly, the franchise is still being dragged with a stretched plot. Tom Cruise is a darling and the stunts are brilliant, but we believe the franchise should end soon.

Taken

Action star Liam Neeson’s impeccable acting coupled with brilliant action sequences and plot forced us to love the first part of Taken. However, that should have been the end. There was no need to turn Taken into a franchise, but the makers did that and sadly, the second and third parts did not receive the love of most people, including us.

The Terminator

Nobody on earth could’ve nailed the role of the Terminator like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not to forget, the vision of director James Cameron turned the Terminator into one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. However, the fictional war between humans and Skynet started in 1984 and is still going on. Not to forget, Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) made little sense to most of the viewers because it threw everyone off the regular course of the franchise. In short, over the years, the franchise and its plot became complex.
