Vijayadashami. known as Dussehra, is a major Hindu festival celebrated each year, and marks the end of Durga Puja and Navaratri. The day is celebrated to remember goddess Durga's victory against Mahishasura, and includes processions to a river or ocean front to immerse the clay statues of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya.
