The IPL 2025 witnessed centuries coming in fewer than 40 deliveries

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 had no dearth of bombastic batting, resulting in multiple colossal team totals, including centuries from several players. However, some centuries were smacked with the fewest deliveries, making them the fastest in the 2025 edition.

As the year comes to an end, here’s a recap of the fastest IPL centuries scored this season.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi vs. Gujarat Titans

Born in 2011, 14-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavnashi scored a century in 35 balls, registering the second-fastest century in the history of the IPL against the Gujarat Titans. Chasing a target of 210 for Rajasthan, the youngster dealt with a bowling attack comprising the likes of Rashid Khan, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna. Suryavanshi scored 26 runs in an Ishant Sharma over, whereas his 50 came in merely 17 balls. By the time he was removed from the crease, he had hit 11 sixes and seven fours.

Heinrich Klaasen vs. Kolkata

In the 68th game of the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Batting first, South African hitter Heinrich Klaasen ran riot against the Kolkata bowling department, hitting them right, left, and centre. In the process, he scored 100 runs in merely 37 balls and ended the innings with 105 runs off 39 balls, helping Hyderabad post a target of 278 runs. In response, the Kolkata Knight Riders faltered at merely 168 runs.

Priyansh Arya vs. Chennai

The 22nd game of the IPL 2025 season saw the Punjab Kings taking on the Chennai Super Kings in Mullanpur. Punjab Kings took the crease first, with opener Priyansh Arya thrashing Chennai’s bowlers in every direction. The youngster scored a century in 39 balls and left the crease with 103 runs in 42 deliveries, which included seven fours and nine sixes. Arya’s efforts helped Punjab post 219 runs—a target that couldn’t be chased by the Super Kings.

Abhishek Sharma vs. Punjab

Abhishek Sharma made a few records in his name when he scored 141 runs in 55 balls against the Punjab Kings. His century came in 40 deliveries, making it the fastest century from the stable of Hyderabad and the fifth fastest in IPL’s history. His 141 also became the highest individual score by an Indian batter in the IPL and the third-highest overall in the tournament.

In 2025, these four quick centuries made it to the top 10 fastest centuries registered in IPL’s history, proving how ferocious the batting line-up was. Although we loved the bombastic batting performances, next year, we certainly hope for more balanced games so that scoring runs becomes a tough affair.
