It is unfortunate that the majority of Indians do not remember these mathematicians and their contributions
India and Indians have contributed to almost every field worldwide. However, it is unfortunate that the majority of people do not remember the contributions of famous Indian personalities across genres.
Take mathematics, for example. It is only Aryabhatta whose name comes to our minds, but there are several other Indian mathematicians who changed the field with their groundbreaking inventions and theories.
Worked with Albert Einstein on the Bose-Einstein Condensate project; Satyendra Nath Bose is known as the ‘Father of God Particles’.
One of the greatest in the world, Srinivasa Ramanujan, was responsible for finding important equations, the infinite series of π, and game theory.
A winner of the National Medal of Science, Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao is popular for his ‘Theory of Estimation’.
Brahmagupta was an ancient Indian mathematician and astronomer who lived in the 7th century CE. He made many important contributions to mathematics, especially in the fields of number theory, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

A 7th-century astronomer and mathematician from Rajasthan, Brahmagupta wrote a book in which he discussed the use of zero in calculations. He also contributed to arithmetic, trigonometry, and general linear equations.
