The Ambani wedding will be followed by 'Shubh Aashirwad' on July 13 and 'Mangal Utsav' on July 14.
Anant Ambani finally tied the knot with Radhika Merchant on July 12, as the wedding is all set to culminate a series of pre-wedding functions, including a three-day bash in Jamnagar and a cruise party across the Mediterranean. On July 12, the Ambanis finally welcomed Radhika Merchant as part of their family.
While the wedding function was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai with the biggest names from across the globe present, it was Nita Ambani who caught everyone’s attention. Well, she was spotted carrying a traditional Raman Divo lamp. As the Ambanis arrived at the venue, Nita and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani posed for a blockbuster family picture along with their elder son Akash Ambani, his wife Shloka Mehta, their two children, as well as daughter Isha Ambani and her husband, Anand Piramal.
Nita Ambani, who looked stunning in a peach silk ghagra designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, carried the Raman Divo lamp at the same time, and it featured an idol of Lord Ganesha.
Well, for those caught unaware, the Raman Divo is an important part of Gujarati weddings. It is usually carried by the groom’s mother as a symbol of the auspicious light that dispels darkness and bestows blessings upon the couple.
Anant Ambani, the younger son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, got married to Radhika Merchant, is the younger daughter of Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant, founders and owners of Encore Healthcare.
The wedding event was a grand affair with several global names including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and John Cena marking their presence. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas too reached Mumbai for the wedding. Also seen in attendance were Indian film celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Mahesh Babu, Yash, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ananya Panday among others.
Meanwhile, billionaire Mukesh Ambani gave a speech at the wedding of Anant and Radhika, and addressed the guests saying, “To bless Anant and Radhika will be their doting grandparents, those who are with us today and those who are in heaven left us.” He further added, “Today, I pray to the almighty that Anant and Radhika be so blessed that life together be filled with sukh, wasthya, samridhi and safalta. Happiness, health, prosperity and success.”
As part of the wedding, Anant and Radhika had a varmala (exchanging of floral garlands) ceremony, followed by pheras (taking rounds) around the sacred fire.
Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s wedding, which was held on Friday, will be followed by 'Shubh Aashirwad' on July 13 (Saturday), and 'Mangal Utsav' or the wedding reception on July 14. It is expected that another party will be hosted by the Ambanis on July 15 in Mumbai.
