‘The Perfect Couple’, which stars Ishaan Khatter alongside Nicole Kidman, is all set to release on Netflix on September 5.
Actor Ishaan Khatter recently shared the teaser of his much-awaited limited series, The Perfect Couple, in which he stars alongside Nicole Kidman. In the teaser, the audience gets to see a happy couple – novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman) and Tag Winbury (Liev Schreiber). The two are seen talking about their marriage with another person. Kidman’s character next welcomes guests for her son's wedding with Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson). However, things turn sour when a body turns up on the beach at the happy event.
Next what follows is a real-life investigation, similar to the pages of one of Greer’s novels. In that moment, Ishaan is seen in the shower, and as someone walks in, his character is shown getting surprised. ‘The Perfect Couple’, a six-episode series, also stars Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Billy Howle, and Jack Reynor. It is slated to release on September 5 on Netflix, and has been helmed by Susanne Bier.
While we await Ishaan to jump on the Hollywood bandwagon, much like his fellow contemporaries, here’s a look back at his career so far:
Ishaan, who is the son of actors Neelima Azeem and Rajesh Khattar, and half-brother of Shahid Kapoor, made his first screen appearance as a child in the 2005 film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, which starred Shahid Kapoor. However, his first acting role was Beyond the Clouds (2017), directed by Majid Majidi. The film, which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, was released in theatres in 2018.
In 2020, Ishaan went on to star in the British miniseries A Suitable Boy, which was Mira Nair's adaptation of Vikram Seth's novel of the same name. The six part series featured him opposite Tabu, and aired on BBC One. The same year, he featured with Ananya Panday in the action film Khaali Peeli, which proved to be a dud.
Moving ahead in 2022, he was seen alongside Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the comedy horror film Phone Bhoot, which too failed to leave a mark in front of the audience and the critics.
He was last seen in the war drama Pippa, set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. For the project, he played the role of real-life character of army commander Balram Singh Mehta. The film, which was released on Amazon Prime Video after several delays, yet again seemed unimpressive to many.
Now moving ahead, he has ‘The Perfect Couple’, based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name. His fans certainly wait to see him on the screen yet again.
