IPL 2026: Decoding RR's All Pink Jersey, Last Appearances in the Outfit & More

To celebrate the Pink Promise Day, Rajasthan Royals will don an all-pink jersey in their game versus the Gujarat Titans on May 9

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) has unveiled its all-pink jersey, which the team will wear against the Gujarat Titans on May 9. For the record, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation works to improve the lives of women in rural Rajasthan, and therefore, the all-pink jersey is a special tribute to those women and the cause. This isn’t the first time Rajasthan Royals have worn the jersey; they have done so on multiple occasions.

Ahead of their game, let us decode this year’s jersey and how RR’s record has been at home in the all-pink jersey.

Designed by a 19-year-old

Designed by a 19-year-old named Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik (https://www.instagram.com/samiksha.m_20/), the jersey was selected out of 8,00,000 entries, but Samiksha’s creativity touched the right notes for the Royals.

On the right side of the jersey, the ripple pattern reflects how meaningful change begins with one woman and then expands from there. Not to forget, on the ripple lines, there are names of multiple women from Rajasthan who were supported by the foundation. Moving to the left side of the jersey, there are subtle solar panels that represent access to clean energy, one of the foundation's key pillars.

The franchise has also promised that for every six hits during the game, it will help light up six homes in Rajasthan.

RR’s performances in the all-pink jersey

Kohli’s 114 vs. Buttler’s 100, 2024

In 2024, the Rajasthan Royals secured a victory against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets and five balls to spare. Virat Kohli had lit up the stage on fire with his 114 runs that helped the Challengers post a target of 183 runs in Jaipur. However, from the Royals dugout, Jos Buttler came guns blazing, hitting a century in 58 balls, whereas Sanju Samson added 69 runs in 42 balls. The game was ended by Shimron Hetmyer, who added 11 runs in six deliveries.

A 100-run defeat

Last year, when the Royals turned up in all pink, things did not go in their favour as the team had to endure a 100-run defeat at the hands of the Mumbai Indians. The Indians had posted a target of 217 runs on the board, but during the chase, RR managed only 117 runs. From Mumbai’s bowling line-up, Trent Boult and Karn Sharma had grabbed three wickets each.

In the upcoming game, Rajasthan Royals must win to ensure their stay in the top four, but if the Gujarat Titans win, they will replace the Royals.
