Except for KL Rahul, none of the Indian batters looked settled as they gave away their wickets easily and at quick intervals

The first ODI match between Australia and India turned out to be a chaotic experience for the Men in Blue. Returnees Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli looked out of order, whereas pressure captain Gill was clearly seen under pressure. The middle order also failed to bring the required stability except for KL Rahul, who displayed his calm demeanour and composure, countering the Aussie bowlers while the rest of the cards fell.

Even though rain was the main antagonist of the game, India’s poor batting display became the major highlight. After all, this series is the beginning of India’s preparation for the 2027 World Cup campaign, and this is not the beginning Gambhir & Co. wished for.

Ahead of the second game, we asked what’s next in the bowl, and the results are shocking for India.

ChatGPT’s takeaway & concern

For the record, we asked two separate AIs to predict the outcome. First off, let’s begin with what ChatGPT predicted.

ChatGPT asserts that India's veterans, with their experience in countering Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc's bowling attack, must return to their peak. Much relies on the rest of the youngsters, but similar to KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, they must use the opportunity they have received after seven months.

India’s bowling did a great job, and the fielding was on point by everybody. However, the reduced overs and unsettled batters did not allow India to post a big enough target to be defendable for the bowling unit. Therefore, it is the batters who must fire all guns.

Prediction

Having pointed out these markers, ChatGPT still said, “Australia will win the 2nd ODI as well. My reasoning: India’s batting instability under overseas conditions remains a concern, and Australia have shown sharper execution. Unless India produce a markedly improved performance—a strong top-order stand, better utilisation of conditions, and tighter bowling—they will struggle to overhaul the benchmark set.”

In short, ChatGPT feels the second and third games are already dead rubber for the Men in Blue.

Perplexity AI’s words

On the other hand, Perplexity AI gave a more balanced prediction. The AI took into account the difference in pitch condition of Adelaide compared to Perth, i.e., shorter square boundaries and a flat surface, and it isn’t as bounce-heavy as Perth. Perplexity also mentioned that given Kohli’s record in Adelaide, he is expected to do better and turn things around for India.

However, at the end of the day, India needs more than 280 runs if the Men in Blue wish to turn the third game into a series decider. Perplexity AI’s outcome says India will win the game narrowly, but Australia in home conditions has always been a tough cookie.

IND vs. AUS: Adelaide – Dominated by Kohli, Perfect for Comeback?

Adelaide is one of Virat Kohli’s favourite venues India tasted a disappointing start in the ongoing series against Australia as it lost the first ODI match without putting in a gallant effort. However, the bigger disappointment was the performances of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who scored eight and zero ...
