F1 2023: Drivers Assess the Top Most Performing Racers Ahead of Four-Race Jam-Packed July

Halfway into the season, the drivers assessed the performance of other racers in the ongoing F1 season.

July is a jam-packed month in the world of Formula One because we have four race weekends. Ahead of the busy schedule, F1 drivers assessed other drivers' performances in a recently held press conference, which comprised George Russell, Hulkenberg, Nyck de Vries, Verstappen, and Piastri.

Statements

George was the first to be asked about other drivers' performances, to which he replied, "Max is the number one at the moment. Number two and number three, nobody else cares about. It's incredibly difficult to judge. In an ideal world, all the cars are the same, then it's easy to know. Many drivers are doing a good job. Fernando is doing a good job, Lewis [Hamilton] is doing a good job, Lando [Norris] is doing a good job, Oscar [Piastri] is doing a good job, Hulk [Nico Hulkenberg]," as quoted by F1's official website.

According to Hulkenberg, Max, Fernando, and Gasly are his top performers this season, whereas De Vries took the names of Max, Fernando and Yuki. McLaren newcomer Piastri also pitched in his opinion. The debutant racer said, "Max, Fernando and Yuki – I think he [Tsunoda] has done a good job this season."

On the other hand, reigning world champion Max Verstappen did not take the name of any racer and instead settled with, "I don't know, to be honest. Like George said, there are a lot of good drivers on this grid."

Four races

F1 is in Austria for the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend and the British Grand Prix next week. From July 21 to 23, the Hungarian Grand Prix will take place, whereas July will end with the Belgian Grand Prix weekend from July 28 to July 30.

Verstappen leads the table with 196 points, followed by Perez with 126 points, whereas Alonso is in third place with 117 points.
