While planning a trip to Thailand, we mostly think about the exotic natural elegance, crazy nightlife, adventure sports, and mouth-watering cuisines. However, apart from these, the country also offers a lot that caters to the tourists who crave something more.
Precisely, it is home to a wide variety of weird sites that are equally appealing. Although relatively unexplored, these will give you experiences that you can cherish for a lifetime.
So, without further ado, let’s have a look at the five weirdest attractions in the Land of Smiles.
Koh Hingham
Referred to as the ‘Cursed Island of Black Pebbles,’ Koh Hingham is one of the most mysterious places in Thailand. It is a small, uninhabited island packed with black pebbles. Legend has it that the island is cursed by the Thai deity Tarutao.
It’s believed that anyone who takes a pebble away will be cursed for the rest of their life. However, you can play with those pebbles and build small structures with them.
Puek Tian Beach
Puek Tian Beach is near the city of Phetchaburi, Western Thailand. It is not like any other Thai beach that sees a lot of tourists throughout the year. It houses numerous weird statues that depict characters from the epic poem ‘Phra Aphai Mani’ written by the most renowned Thai poet, Sunthorn Phu. Also, as per the local legends, the seawater is filled with evil spirits.
Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden
Located in the village of Saen Suk, the Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden is commonly known as the ‘Thailand Hell Horror Park’! Once you reach there, you will spot a colorful sign at the entrance, which reads “Welcome To Hell”!
The entire area is home to numerous weird statues depicting the sinners from the Buddhist hell. Also, it conveys some strong messages to live life honestly.
Siriraj Medical Museum
Also known as the Museum of Death, Siriraj Medical Museum is home to six different museums – a museum of pathology, a museum of parasitology, a forensics museum, a museum of the history of Thai medicine, a prehistoric museum, and a museum of anatomy. However, several weird things are not suitable for faint-hearted people.
Apart from these, Thailand also offers Sam Phan Bok, Sak Yant Tattoo, etc.
