  1. She was not initially named Kareena 

During the time of her birth, her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, named her Siddhima. Her mother, Babita, then changed it to Kareena after taking inspiration from Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina. As for her nickname, Kareena's family calls her Bebo, derived from her elder sister Karisma Kapoor's childhood nickname.

The actress first dabbled with commerce at Mumbai’s Mithibai college, but then she did a short stint studying law as she had initial aspirations of becoming a criminal lawyer. She even did a short course in Microcomputers at Harvard University. However, soon enough, she made her foray into Bollywood and there’s been no turning back since then.
