Of course, the major part of Athens consists of that, but this ancient Greek metropolis is so much more than that. From stunning landscapes to beautiful beaches, Athens has something for everyone. The Acropolis

As we said earlier, the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Athens is archaeological ruins. And well, the Acropolis is an incredibly iconic sight when considering ruins all around the world. It is on a steep rocky outcrop above the city.

When you visit the Acropolis, you can see the Parthenon, the Propylea, and the Erechtheion, among other things to see there. Also, do visit the museum there, which is situated on the southeast slope.

Hadrians Library

Well, this one is not a library in the literal sense. This was a place where people used to go to study instead of going to borrow books. This library was constructed around 132 AD for housing documents and reading rooms.

While nothing much is left in this building anymore, you can see the remains of this grand building and take in all the beauty of it! Note that there is an entrance fee to roam and see this building.

Edem Beach

As we said, there is a lot more to see in Athens apart from just historic buildings. The Edem beach may not be the best beach to hang out at, but it is very peaceful. You will not find many people here, so you can enjoy your time with your loved ones at this beach.

The Plaka
