NEET UG Counselling to Begin Soon: Full Breakdown of Eligibility, Required Documents, and Step-by-Step Process

Today, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the NEET UG 2024 final and revised scorecard. The scorecard can be viewed online on their official website: https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister, has confirmed that the revised results will be announced within the next two days. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), which is responsible for allotting seats for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing to aspiring students, is expected to release the official NEET UG 2024 schedule for counselling soon.

What prompted a Retest?

The NEET UG 2024 entrance examination, which was held on May 5th, ran into allegations for discrepancies in scoring. To ensure a fair test, and address the concerns revolving ‘grace marks’ allocated to the students, a retest was conducted on the 23rd of June. 1,563 candidates were affected by the process. Out of these, only 813 candidates chose to appear for the retest, while the rest, which amounts to 48%, decided to move on with their initial scores including the ‘grace marks’.

As per several media reports, the number of top scorers in the test went down from 67 to 61. The revised merit list can be found on their official website.

Soon, it is expected that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release an exhaustive schedule for NEET UG 2024 counseling on their official website: [https://mcc.nic.in/](https://mcc.nic.in/). In addition to this, they will also publish on their website an information bulletin which details the entire counselling process.

The schedule released by MCC will comprise important information on registration dates, required documents, eligibility and the number of counselling rounds.
