Narendra Modi Turns 74: Did You Know India's Prime Minister Is Also A Successful Author?

The Prime Minister has penned numerous books over the years, several of which are bestsellers.

"Books are treasure troves of knowledge. They give you the strength to face life.” - Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of India, needs no introduction at all. Being a mass leader with an unparalleled influence on common Indians, Modi has set an example in the international arena, inspiring countless people from across the world. And despite all the controversies surrounding him, it goes without saying that he is a man of remarkable passion and dedication.

However, what's also essential to acknowledge is there's much more to Modi beyond his political career. Not many know that he is a successful author with several best-selling books to his credit. Today, on his 74th birthday, let's celebrate the 'author' Narendra Modi in this article.

Below are some of his most popular literary works.

Exam Warriors

Speaking about Narendra Modi's books, 'Exam Warriors' is the first one that would come to our minds. Published in 2018, the book explores how young students can deal with the stress of exams and succeed. Here, Modi shares several anecdotes from his own life, providing lessons about how we can overcome the tests in life and become the best versions of ourselves.

The book is incredibly popular and is available in 13 languages, such as Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Kannada, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. It is distributed to all government schools across the country.

Jyotipunj

Modi wrote this Gujarati book, titled 'Jyotipunj', in 2008 after his second victory in the Gujarat assembly elections. The book contains profiles of 16 RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha) leaders who mentored Modi in his political career. The longest here is of M. S. Golwalkar whom the Prime Minister refers to as Pujniya Shri Guruji ("Guru worthy of worship").

Sakshi Bhaav

Sakshi Bhaav (The Witness State) is a collection of PM Modi's poems which he penned in his younger days. The book's core essence is observing life without being much attached to it, maintaining calmness despite all the hustle and bustle. Here, Modi reflects on his own journey, offering insights into how he maintains a balance between his spirituality and political career. The verses here are simple yet deep, giving us an insight into the Prime Minister's mind.

Notably, the book was originally a diary written by Modi when he was 36. Speaking about the book, he once shared, "'Sakshi Bhaav' is a compilation of my samvaad with Jagad Janani Maa (Universal Mother Goddess) when I was 36. It connects the reader with me and enables the reader to know me through my words, not only newspapers."

The list obviously doesn't end here. Besides the above-mentioned books, it also includes 'Setubandh', 'Premtirth', 'Aankh Aa Dhanya Chhe', etc. On the other hand, he has penned the lyrics of two Gujarati garba songs: "Garbo", sung by Dhvani Bhanushali and composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and "Maadi", sung by Divya Kumar and composed by Meet Bros.
