Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur will be hosting a three-day long Literary Festival titled ‘Akshar’ from October 14 to 16.
The Festival is being organized by an IIT Kanpur incubated company named SIIC in collaboration with Rajbhasha Prakoshth, Gaatha- an audio-hosting platform, and the Shivani Centre for the Nurture and Re-Integration of Hindi and other Indian Languages.
Shivani was a celebrated author whose works have been read, devoured, and loved by millions across the country. Her works in Hindi have been translated into many other languages. Shivan’s novels were mainly focused on the ‘women-centric fiction’ genre of literature, where she portrayed women as very strong and rooted characters.
‘Akshar’ will be a celebration of the life and works of the legendary author Shivani.
Apart from this, a book fair will also be organized by some leading publishers from all over the country.
The festival will include poetry discussions and discourse on Shivani’s literary works. A group discussion on “Aaj ke Daur me Sahitya ki Praasangikta” and a Kavi Sammelan, will also be additional highlights to look forward to in the Literary Festival.
The event will be further garnished with the enactment of Shivani’s ‘Apradhini’ by ‘Nisha’- a theatre group, and a stroy recital by ‘Katharangf’- a story recital group of some of the most popular stories by Shivani.
