Blockbuster movies that everyone expected to flop.

These movies were expected to be a dud by many, but their box office collection surprised even their harshest critics. Movie making is a serious business. For some, it may seem like a walk in the park, but in reality, a lot of factors and people are involved in making a story come to life. But many times, due to different reasons, people start doubting the fate of the movie based on its making and journey. The negative publicitysometimes can act as a final nail on the film’s fate. There are, however, many such movies that have risen like a phoenix and worked phenomenally well despite the odds. Titanic. The most iconic movie of our times, Titanic, was expected to bomb before its release. Many critics and experts pointed out that Titanic was fated to sink thanks to its humongous budget and unwanted delay that tipped the budget of the movie to nearly 200 million dollars. This figure was unheard of at that time. The Los Angeles Times even got a “Titanic watch” to keep an eye on the budget concerns and numerous delays. The movie was even shifted to a December release instead of summer because of these glitches. But the movie surpassed everyone’s expectations and ruled the box offices across the globe for a glorious fifteen weeks straight. It was the biggest hit bagging all the major awards, including the Oscars. Inception. Christopher Nolan, known for his impeccable filmmaking and talent, has proved his mettle time and again. After the roaring success of his movie “The Dark Knight”, the expectation was running high for his next movie. And Nolan, being the unconventional director that is chosen  “Inception”, a unique twisted and mind-boggling concept as his next film with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead. Because of this unique and confusing sci-fi concept, everyone assumed that the movie is not going to resonate with the audiences. But Inception was a huge success garnering rave reviews and earning about 825.5 million dollars worldwide. Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Walt Disney’s first full length animated movie was released in the year 1937. It had a running time of about eighty minutes. Thefull-length animated film was an unknown concept at that time, and the critics were sceptic about how the film is going to hold the attention of children for full 80 minutes and for their parents for that matter.
