7 Tough Houseplants That Can Survive Almost Any Kind Of Trouble
Keeping plants alive is not as easy as it seems. Here are some plants that will thrive even if you are not an excellent plant care giver.
As well as being aesthetically pleasing, houseplants have been shown to improve our emotional and physical well-being. Yet, despite this, many of us cannot devote the time necessary to properly care for our plants. Good news! Low-maintenance plants areavailable. They're pest-resistant, low-maintenance, don't mind shade, and look great.
Lily
Because these plants love organic stuff, you may save money on fertilizer by making your own. The plant may be easily repotted, so feeding is not required for another six months. If you don't fertilize it, you don't even need to do so. It's interesting to note it can grow with soil as long as there is enough water.
Eucalyptus
One of the most inexpensive and long-lived plants is the eucalyptus tree. Even if fertilizer isn't necessary, you may give it a boost twice a year - in the spring and summer. For the first 10-15 years, anticipate it to remain as a single trunk and not develop or blossom. Then, you don't have to worry if you forget about it; the tree will survive.
Ferns Of Asparagus
Only water this evergreen plant once per week or because when the top part of the soil dries dry. It also proliferates, so keep an eye on it and trim it. If you place it in full sunshine, the soil and leaves will dry up and become brown. Also, it doesn't mind being kept in the same pan for an extended period; leaving it there for a long time is good.
Palm
It's best to water these plants often, even if they can tolerate short periods of dryness. Keeping a palm in shape isn't a big deal, and new palms may be grown from division and stem cuttings. Direct sunshine won't harm it, although the leaves may first turn yellow. It won't take long for the plant to become used to burning its leaves.
Succulent
As a succulent, it does best in dry soil and will rot and die if placed in wet ground. Just minimum fertilizing is necessary for summer and spring, and repotting is not suggested. It does not matter what type of sunshine the plant receives. The only thing to be aware of is that your roots can rot & mealybugs can grow if you overwater the plant.
The Weeping Fig
Make sure your drainage is correct for this houseplant, and you'll be OK. It expands rapidly and massively outside. Repotting or moving the plant will result in leaf drops. Even if this does occur, they will be restored to normal in a few weeks. Ensure the plant isn't near heat exchangers or air conditioners to keep it from overheating.
Pancake Plants
In East Asia, this hardy plant used to thrive on the rocky slopes of the Himalayas. Pancake plants are known for their ease of maintenance. Slow-growing plants like this one require an abundance of indirect sunshine. Propagation is also a breeze since the plant produces new roots and leaves in weeks.
