With her intentional ‘Titli’ styling for Bhool Chuk Maaf promotions, Wamiqa Gabbi showed us how an act continues long after the cameras stop rolling.
Wamiqa Gabbi is certainly one of the most loved B-town actresses on the block lately, and with her latest romantic comedy, Bhool Chuk Maaf, she has managed to make a mark in the hearts and minds of the audience. However, it is rather interesting to note that she did not leave her character behind on set despite the film’s premiere on Prime Video on June 6, just two weeks after its theatrical release on May 23.
In the film, the actress isn’t just playing a girl named Titli, but she’s living it up across cities, red carpets, and social media. Nonetheless, she managed to transform her routine press tour into a fashion statement of its own. During each of her promotional looks, Wamiqa made sure to engage in storytelling, and her outfit gave a glimpse into who Titli is – a woman full of light, joy and drama.
Let’s take a closer look at the way she’s brought her character Titli to life, one look at a time:
For one of her promotional looks, she wore a vibrant parrot-green silk organza saree paired with a red blouse. With an elegant and traditional silhouette, she made her look stand out with her hair, which had tiny pastel butterflies delicately placed through her braid, thereby giving it a fairytale-like quality. Her look gave a sincere nod to the character she was playing in the film.
For one of her looks, she wore a yellow co-ord set that made her feel like Titli. The bright and breezy attire featured a V-waist pleated skirt with a strappy blouse, which was further accentuated with a sheer cape covered in butterfly prints. She captioned it: “Haldi ka colour hai yellow, Titli boli hello-hello.”
Wamiqa wore a shimmering black saree featuring bronze butterfly embroidery, and it made her look glamorous and full of depth at the same time. With her look, she portrayed how Titli is not just sunshine and softness, but it also is mysterious and magnetic.
For another look, she adorned a blush pink saree with butterfly earrings and a delicate hairpin, and it gave her a sense of softness and stillness. With no vibrant prints or dramatic flourishes, the look got all the love without screaming for attention.
Wamiqa gave the most literal tribute to Titli by wearing a pastel pink lehenga covered in bright yellow butterfly prints. The playful and romantic drape turned out to be a visual metaphor for a character who is always evolving.
To say the least, we’ve all seen many promotional fashion moments over the years, but Wamiqa and her Titli-style diaries carried a character from fiction into the real world.
