Noel Tata has joined the board of Tata Sons, marking a significant change within the Tata Group. This appointment, finalized through a virtual board meeting on Diwali eve, follows his recent appointment as chairman of Tata Trusts, the entity holding a 66% stake in Tata Sons. With this role, Noel becomes the first family member since 2011 to serve simultaneously on the boards of both Tata Trusts and Tata Sons, symbolizing strengthened family involvement in the conglomerate’s governance. The Tata Sons board, now with nine directors, includes a mix of executive, non-executive, and independent members. Suzuki Motor Corporation has introduced its first mass-produced battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e-Vitara, in Milan, Italy. Production is set to start in spring 2025 at Suzuki Motor Gujarat in India, with anticipated launches in Europe, India, and Japan by summer 2025.
The e-Vitara builds on the "eVX" concept, previously showcased at India’s Auto Expo in January 2023 and at the Japan Mobility Show. Marking Suzuki's first globally strategic BEV, the e-Vitara is designed as an "Emotional Versatile Cruiser." It combines advanced technology with SUV durability, featuring an electric 4WD “ALLGRIP-e” system for enhanced off-road capability and performance. Built on the “HEARTECT-e” platform specifically for BEVs, its “High-Tech & Adventure” theme is evident in the vehicle's large tires, extended wheelbase, and high-tech interior, including an integrated display and rugged controls, creating a balanced fusion of adventure and innovation.
