Splitgate delivered the twist needed for FPS fans
Believe it or not, the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre has been exploited so much that, it might feel a bit saturated nowadays! Of course, players have their own preferences for battle royale antics, but, when a new FPS comes into the free-to-play market, it's designed for the heavy hitters. However, Splitgate changed that notion. As 1047 Games came up with the announcement of the sequel of slipper hit first version, we will discuss why it was revolutionary!
Good news for Splitgate fans! The developer company is reviving the old version with a fresh take. The 1047 Games unveiled the much-awaited trailer of Splitgate 2 using the similar portal mechanic. The Splitgate 2 trailer doesn't give away the features of gameplay, however, it promises a grand world building, a never seen before experience for the players.
According to 1047 Games: “We’ve rebuilt everything from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 and also added a new faction-based system. There will be familiar elements, but on the whole, Splitgate 2 should look and feel completely fresh from the original.”

Splitgate became a slipper hit during its launch in 2021. Famously regarded as “Halo with portals,” it witnessed 10 million downloads in a month. However, the developer company suddenly stopped the game to build a revamped next version.
Ditch the Conventional Approach: The best part of Splitgate was unique combination of different sets of ‘core mechanics.’ The blend of gunplay and movement of early Halo alongside the momentum management and ‘reality warping’ of Portal, truly justified the tagline “Halo Meets Portal”. Well, it may sound a no-brainer, but the feel and experience was something extraordinary.

A Brand-new Experience: There are millions of multiplayer game, but what made Splitgate separate from others is it brought back the actual fun of playing with different people. The studio 1047 Games provided an enriching quality of Halo 4 or Halo 5: Guardians with supremely smooth movement and solid attack. Filled with pure and simplistic fun, Splitgate is a true ode to the FPS genre.
Game Modes Made Splitgate Unique: Well, the modes were not unique, it was similar to the traditional FPS games, however, the developers made it easy-to-learn yet hard-to-master. This made players quite addicted to bring the perfection in the battlefield. Splitgate featured some unique elements too in the battlefield. For passionate gamers, the moments like using portals to build hard-to-read paths or dodging bullets to circle back for a melee strike to the back of the head were the highlights.

Fans would Love to See this Change: Among all these, one major drawback was generic character and maps. The fans are expecting some welcoming change in the sequel.
Let's conclude this with a trivia, only 25 people were involved in building this world-class game, truly indicating why passion is much greater than profits. The developer company’s claim “Splitgate aims to bring back the glory days of PvP shooters” is absolutely justifiable.
Totally free for playing, Splitgate 2 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Now, the FPS fans are eagerly waiting for exciting updates on Splitgate 2.
