On This Day (July 03): A Peek Inside Vettel's Droolworthy Car Collection on His B'day

The former F1 driver has hinted at a comeback, but the world is yet to receive a final word from him

Will Sebastian Vettel return to Formula One? This is a question we and millions of Vettel fans across the globe ponder over almost every day. He has hinted, but so far, the world has not received a confirmation from him. While we cannot do anything other than pray, on this special day, i.e., Sebastian Vettel's 37th birthday, we take a look at his garage, which comprises some of the coolest and most expensive cars on earth.

Ferrari F430

Although Vettel tasted Formula One success with Red Bull Racing, he spent time at the Scuderia Ferrari camp, and therefore, it is no surprise that he has a knack for a number of prancing horses. One of the most iconic cars he has in his stable is an F430, which was in production between 2004 and 2009. Powered by a 4.3-litre, Ferrari 136 E V8 engine, the car had a price-tag of $217,318. The F430 was the first Ferrari to feature a Manettino steering wheel-mounted control knob, and its engine was mated to a six-speed "F1" electrohydraulic manual transmission.

Ferrari California T

For long tours, Vettel purchased the Ferrari California T, an elegant convertible sports tourer. Powered by a 3,855cc, Ferrari F154 BB twin-turbo, V8 engine, the car makes a peak power of 553hp at 7,500rpm and a maximum torque of 755Nm at 4,750rpm mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car was purchased by Vettel in 2016 at $231,606. Unfortunately, the California T was replaced by the Portofino 2022, which has increased the value of Vettel's California T.

Ferrari 488 GTB

Another Ferrari owned by Vettel is the 488 GTB, which in 2016 had a price-tag of around $505,480. Under the hood, the car draws power from a 3902cc, eight-cylinder, four valves per cylinder, DOHC engine that generates a peak power of 660hp at 8,000rpm and a maximum torque of 760Nm at 3,000rpm. The car has been discontinued, but in the resale market, the car is still sold at as high as $300,000, which only proves how brilliant the product was.

Aston Martin Vantage

This is one of the newest cars in Vettel's garage, and Vettel owns the special F1 edition. Under the hood, the car is armed with an M177 AMG, 3,998cc engine that churns out a peak power of 656hp at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 800Nm at 2,750-6,000rpm. In terms of performance, the sports coupe can hit 96 kilometres per hour in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 305 kilometres per hour. The Vantage is worth $478,127.

Aston Martin DBX

Last but not least, the former Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver also owns an Aston Martin DBX. The car draws power from a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates a peak power of 697hp at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 900Nm at 2,600-4,500rpm. The car does zero to 96 kilometres per hour in merely 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 310 kilometres per hour.

On Vettel's 37th birthday, we wish the four-time F1 champion a lengthy and happy life. We also hope to see him in the cockpit once again!
