Lok Sabha Reviews Significant Amendments to the Waqf Act
According to PTI, the bill to amend the Waqf Act was distributed to Lok Sabha members on Tuesday night.
The legislation is expected to undergo significant changes and will be renamed. These changes include the representation of Muslim women and non-Muslims in Waqf bodies.
The Waqf Act of 1995 will be renamed the ‘Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development Act, 1995.’
