Marketa Vondrousova recently sustained a hand injury whereas Hubert Hurkacz hurt his knee at the Wimbledon last month
Every four years, an athlete waits to represent his or her country in the biggest platform of sports—the Olympics. This time, the Olympics will be held in Paris in 2024. However, injuries have already marred some of the athletes' chances. Marketa Vondrousova and Hubert Hurkacz are the latest names to withdraw from the competition due to injuries.

Apart from these two latest names, let us take a look at a few other athletes who have withdrawn from the tournament due to injuries.
Just one month before the Paris Olympics 2024, the Belarus tennis player said she would not participate. During the Ecotrans Ladies Open in July against Anna Kalinskaya, she injured her shoulder in the quarter-final match. So, she decided to take a rest for a while. She is currently No. 3 in the world ranking for tennis women. She was also unable to participate in Wimbledon. She hopes to make a comeback at the upcoming US Open, which will begin in August. The Australian Open champion is currently spending time with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, the CEO and founder of Oakberry Acai Bowls.
Three-time Grand Slam finalist Ons Jabeur has announced her withdrawal from the Paris Olympics in 2024. Due to a nagging knee injury, her medical team has advised rest and recovery. Jabeur was recently defeated in straight sets in a surprise third-round defeat by Elina Svitolina at Wimbledon, dropping her to No. 16 in the rankings. She finished 33rd in the singles event at Tokyo 2020.

The 2021 US Open champion turned down a wildcard opportunity to play for Great Britain at the Paris Olympics due to double wrist surgeries and an ankle operation. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) offered her one of two wildcard spots reserved for former Grand Slam champions. Raducanu's comeback at Wimbledon ended in the fourth round as she lost to unseeded New Zealander Lulu Sun. Before Wimbledon, she skipped the French Open to focus on her preparation. Her next priority is to compete in the US Open.

The Indian long jumper has been ruled out of the Parsi Olympics in 2024 due to a ruptured tendon he suffered in June. He had to go through a surgery and has not recovered yet. He said after the injury, "My journey to a comeback began the minute I injured my knee." For the unversed souls, Sreeshankar grabbed a silver in the Asian Games.
Five-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah cannot defend titles in the 100 and 200 metres at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Jamaican sprint star had to withdraw from the Jamaican Track and Field Trials on June 27 due to an achilles tendon injury sustained at her last race during the New York Grand Prix in early June, where she ended up with a season-best 11.48 seconds.
