It's Confirmed; 'Animal Park' To Go On Floors In 2025; What To Expect From The Upcoming Film?

The basic structure of 'Animal Park' was ready "right when 'Animal' was written".

"'Animal Park' will be even darker and meaner than "Animal'." - Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Whether you loved 'Animal' or absolutely hated it, you cannot deny the fact that the film is the biggest Bollywood phenomenon in recent times. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga - Ranbir Kapoor film created a storm at the box office, grossing ₹917.76 crore worldwide, and later set a new benchmark on OTT too. And even after so many days since its release, 'Animal' continues to be a hot topic on social media, and the craze surrounding it doesn't seem to fade away anytime soon.

The sequel to 'Animal', titled 'Animal Park', was announced in the post-credit scene of the film. According to the latest reports, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's writers' team is currently developing the script based on Vanga's plotline. It will go on floors in 2025 (as the director is currently occupied with 'Spirit') and is expected to even surpass its predecessor in terms of violence.

"...he has one or two scenes ready, which are very exciting, but now because of the success of part one, I think he has the confidence and courage to go even darker and complex. Sandeep Reddy Vanga can do anything," shared Ranbir Kapoor in a recent interview.

Well, as of now, let's delve into what awaits us in 'Animal Park'.

The Story Of 'Swastik Steels'

'Swastik Steels' is the business empire of the Singhs in 'Animal', and to be precise, the story actually began here. The conflict between Rajdheer Singh (Ranvijay's grandfather) and his brother (Abrar's grandfather) took place at the inception of Swastik Steels, leading to the war between Ranvijay and Abrar.

"Swastik was my life. I wanted to give you my empire, and you just walked away, just like that," said Balbir to his son, Ranvijay.

However, 'Animal' didn't show much of the business empire, its history, and how it operates. So, maybe we will get to see that in the sequel.

Abrar Haque's Backstory

One of the major highlights in 'Animal' was inarguably Bobby Deol as Abrar Haque. The character appeared for about fifteen minutes in the film, but it was enough to take the audience by storm, leaving a lasting impact on them. And the major credit for that goes to Deol, who brought the character to life.

"I was not put into a situation where I was not convinced or had to be convinced or felt awkward. I felt Abrar, the kind of savage and evil he is, I had to play it that way." - Bobby Deol.

Well, everyone who has seen 'Animal' wishes Abrar had more screen time. Considering the unprecedented craze surrounding the character, we can expect to see his backstory in the sequel. This may include his childhood, his relationship with his grandfather, how he became an animal, and more.

Ranvijay Singh vs Aziz Haque

Ranvijay was dark, merciless, and violent throughout the film. However, the post-credit scene introduced Aziz (Abrar's brother who has undergone surgery to look like Ranvijay), whose intensity made Ranvijay's violence seem like mere child's play. He killed two of Ranvijay's men and hinted at going further to kill Ranvijay, who had killed his brother, Abrar.

We believe that Vanga will show the story of Aziz in 'Animal Park'. Also, there will be a deadly face-off between Ranvijay and Aziz for sure.

Also, the old Ranbir Kapoor (at the beginning and the end of the film) left fans wondering whether he was Ranvijay or Aziz. Well, maybe we will find the answer in the sequel.

No matter how excited we currently are for 'Animal Park', we will have to wait for quite some time for it. Yet, as the saying goes, patience has its own rewards.
