Happy Birthday, Ram Charan: Beyond an Actor - The Entrepreneur, The Philanthropist, and More

Besides being an accomplished actor, Ram Charan also has several other sides to him that many are unaware of.

Ram Charan is a global star today, and man, what an incredible journey it has been! From stepping into the industry as "Chiranjeevi’s son" and facing constant criticism that he was just "surviving on his father’s popularity" to proving everyone wrong and building his own legacy—he has shown that success isn’t handed to you, you earn it. Through sheer hard work, determination, and resilience, he has built a name for himself, brick by brick. And if there’s one thing his journey teaches us, it’s that success takes time, but if you’re committed to your craft, it will happen sooner or later. Now that’s inspiring!

However, it's also worth noting that acting is just one part of his career. There's a lot more to him that many are unaware of. Today, on his 40th birthday, let's learn about some of them.

Entrepreneurial Ventures

In 2016, Ram Charan ventured into film production by launching the Konidela Production Company. His debut film (as a producer), 'Khaidi No. 150', starring his father, the legendary Chiranjeevi, was a massive success, grossing over Rs 164 crores at the box office. Following this, in 2019, he produced 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy', another blockbuster that further cemented his reputation as a producer. Expanding his cinematic vision, 2023 saw him collaborating with Vikram Reddy of UV Creations to establish V Mega Pictures, aiming to bring fresh narratives to the forefront.

Charan's entrepreneurial spirit shines brightly even beyond the silver screen. In 2011, he founded the Ram Charan Hyderabad Polo Riding Club, reflecting his deep passion for equestrian sports. By 2013, he ventured into aviation and became a promoter for Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited. Additionally, his role as co-owner and spokesperson for the obstacle-running series, Devil's Circuit, underscores his commitment to promoting diverse sporting activities.

In December 2023, he became the proud owner of the Hyderabad team in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s first-ever T10 tennis ball cricket tournament. Speaking about this venture, he said, “I am thrilled to be part of ISPL, a unique initiative that promises to redefine cricket entertainment."

Philanthropic Activities

Besides business and entertainment, Charan is an active philanthropist as well. Over the past decade, he has been instrumental in organizing various blood donation camps across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, addressing critical healthcare needs. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, he along with his father, Chiranjeevi, initiated oxygen banks through the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. Starting in the Anantapur and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh, this initiative rapidly expanded nationwide, providing essential support to countless individuals.

His philanthropic spirit garnered widespread appreciation when he arranged for a fan's seriously ill wife to receive free medical treatment at a top Hyderabad hospital.

Personal Passions and Beliefs

An accomplished equestrian, Charan's love for horse riding traces back to his childhood, and it's a passion he continues to nurture. Beyond his professional and recreational pursuits, he is deeply spiritual, often engaging in activities that promote inner peace. He describes this spiritual engagement as a "detox holiday," allowing him to "de-stress, take healthy and simple food, and maintain inner peace from his chaotic shooting schedules and uncertain mundane things."
