Do you know any stories about Greek gods and Goddesses? Their powers?
According to Greek mythology, there was only Chaos in the beginning, the primeval god who is also considered as the personification of a yawning void. Other primordial deities arose from this emptiness, including Gaia (Earth), Eros (Love) and Tartarus (underworld). The Greek pantheon's gods and goddesses were also known as "the 12 Olympian Gods", owing to their residence on Mount Olympus.
Greek god of the sky and also the king of Olympus-Zeus
Zeus was the greatest of all Greek gods and goddesses and his fury affected the weather as he is the god of the sky. Because Zeus is the ruler of all other gods and goddesses, Zeus was worshiped in the household of most ancient Greeks through altars, shrines and daily sacrifices. Zeus had the power to change his original shape and was married to Hera, the queen of the gods.
The Greek god of war - Ares
He was the son of Hera and Zeus and was called the god of war because he was a terrible god, his parents used to hate him and were not adored as much as other Greek gods. The vulture and dog were the important symbols to him and Ares was generally armed with a blood-soaked spear.
Queen of gods, marriage and Greek goddess of women
Hera, Zeus' wife, was the Greek gods' queen as well as the women, goddess of marriage, birth, and families, acting as their protector. Hera, on the other hand, was a furious god who would take her jealousy of other goddesses out on mankind. Peacock was Hera's sacred animal and her chariot was pulled by a pair of peacocks.
Greek goddess of wisdom and war - Athena
Athena, Zeus’s daughter, was the goddess of military strategy and intelligence, with the owl and the olive tree as her sacred symbols. Athena has no mother because she was born right from Zeus’ head while dressed in armor! She is Ares’ feminine counterpart as the goddess of military strategy. Athena is the patron goddess of the Greek city-state of Athens.
The Greek messenger god
Hermes, Zeus’s youngest son, became the gods’ messenger because of his integrity and speed. Hermes could fly and move rapidly while wearing winged shoes and was also a traveler and merchant protector.
