Birthday Special: Arijit Singh Going Global – The Celebrated Singer’s International Collabs That Made Waves

Arijit Singh is one of India's most loved singers, but his magic travels far beyond borders, touching hearts worldwide.

Just a few months ago, the people of Jiaganj — a quiet little town in Murshidabad, West Bengal — noticed a fair-skinned, young foreigner zipping through the narrow lanes on the back of a scooty. Sometimes, he would even hop on a local ferry to cross the river. But no one really looked twice. Jiaganj has gotten used to this kind of thing. Every now and then, someone from halfway across the world lands up here — not as a tourist, but on a personal mission. They all come searching for and to meet one man. A man who blends in so well, that you'd never guess he is anything more than a friendly local. He shops at the corner grocery store, stands in line at the movie theatre, and chats with friends or family over tea at the roadside stall. You wouldn’t know — unless you knew. Because this same soft-spoken man happens to be one of the biggest voices on the planet. The man whose songs make millions feel, whose voice breaks language barriers, and whose fame reaches far beyond India’s borders. The world calls him Arijit Singh. Yes, the same Arijit who sings with Ed Sheeran (the young foreigner I wrote about in the beginning? It's him) on a global stage, and then comes back home to ride his scooty and drop his son to school.

Padma Shri Arijit Singh is a global sensation, with a voice that knows no boundaries. Over the years, he has teamed up with some of the world’s biggest music artists. On his 38th birthday today, let’s take a look at his most iconic international collaborations that made waves across the globe.

Arijit Singh & Ed Sheeran

It all began with a duet that took fans by surprise. In March 2024, Arijit Singh shared the stage with Ed Sheeran at London’s O2 Arena, performing “Perfect” together. The video of their backstage rehearsal went viral, but this was just the beginning.

Soon after, Ed Sheeran turned up in Singh’s hometown, leaving people to anticipate a full-fledged collaboration.

Fast forward to 2025, and Ed Sheeran has now confirmed in a podcast that he and Arijit are working on an album together. The upcoming project promises a blend of British pop and Indian emotion, with both artists contributing to lyrics and composition. The buzz around this album is real—and global.

Arijit Singh & Martin Garrix

When Dutch DJ Martin Garrix teams up with Arijit Singh, you know something electric is in the works. Their first single, “Angels for Each Other,” dropped in March 2025 and instantly lit up playlists across continents. Arijit’s emotive vocals floated seamlessly over Garrix’s signature synth-heavy beats, proving that electronic music can have a soul.

Their second track, “Weightless,” released just a few weeks ago, is already a smash hit. This one is a bilingual blend of Hindi and English, wrapped in a powerful message of unity and resilience. Shot during India’s Krishna Janmashtami festival, the music video features breathtaking visuals of human pyramids and festive chaos. Over 3 million views in a week say it all—it’s a global banger.

Notably, besides these, fans are buzzing about a rumored collaboration between Arijit Singh and American pop artist Lauv. While there's no official confirmation yet, insider sources suggest a lo-fi, acoustic track may be on the cards. If true, this could be a beautiful collision of Lauv’s mellow melodies and Arijit’s soul-stirring voice.

On the other hand, there have also been rumors about Arijit working with EDM producer Marshmello. While no official track has dropped yet, Marshmello’s recent tweet praising Singh’s vocals has led fans to believe a collaboration is brewing. Fingers crossed—this would be one wild fusion!

So yes, Arijit Singh isn’t just India’s voice anymore. He’s a 'global artist' in the truest sense of the term.
